About Me

I am a software engineering leader and architect focused on building scalable systems, developing strong engineering teams, and aligning technology solutions with real-world business needs.

I served as an Engineering Manager within the Seminaries and Institutes Education portfolio for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2021 to 2026, where I led engineering teams responsible for applications supporting global religious education programs. My work centered on technical leadership, team development, and delivering reliable platforms that support educators and students worldwide.

I currently serve as a Software Engineering Architect in the Pathway Education portfolio, helping guide system architecture and technical direction for platforms that expand access to education globally. My focus is designing scalable architectures, enabling engineering teams, and ensuring systems are resilient, maintainable, and aligned with organizational goals.

Earlier in my career, I worked at Academy Mortgage Corporation in Draper, Utah, where I served in several roles including Senior Software Engineer and IT Manager across Enterprise Development, DevOps, and Quality Assurance. In these positions I led engineering teams, managed budgets, hired and mentored engineers, and conducted performance management and professional development. I also served briefly as a Scrum Master, helping train teams in agile methodologies while continuing to contribute as a developer.

My technical experience includes building large-scale web applications, RESTful APIs, and enterprise services. I have led the development of multiple web applications from concept to production, refactored SaaS platforms into scalable N-Tier architectures, and contributed to the release of enterprise services including SOA layers and notification systems. I have also helped enable the development and release of mobile applications for iOS and Android.

Again, welcome to my ePortfolio. I have an entrepreneurial spirit and believe that free enterprise is a cornerstone of an industrious society and one of the greatest contributors to prosperity worldwide. I encourage anyone with even the slightest idea to explore building a business, even as a side venture. If you are interested, feel free to visit my developing business, A-Game Empowerment, which has provided meaningful experience well beyond software engineering and broadened my perspective on business ownership.

Exposure to marketing, product development, and business strategy has strengthened my ability to view software not as an isolated discipline, but as part of a broader system of sales, marketing, and business growth. This perspective helps me design solutions that solve real problems and deliver meaningful impact.
